2. Frequently asked questions

It's stuck on "Downloading model" during local matching setup.

The matching model download is approximately 310 MB and needs an internet connection when you choose to set up local matching. If the bar isn't moving, check your network. If it stays stuck after the connection is back, quit the app and reopen it — the download resumes from where it left off.

Matches aren't what I expected.

Try another input mode. If you typed a phrase and the results felt off, sketch the shape or use a reference image instead. Text, sketch, and image matching use different signals, so they often surface different candidates for the same idea.

How do I generate a custom symbol?

Open the Generate Custom Symbol panel in the left sidebar, add a sketch, reference image, or short text prompt, and include an optional style note. Every install starts with three free generations; if you need more, the Starter, Creator, and Studio SVG Packs add credits as one-time in-app purchases — no subscription, no account, no key management.

Does it work on iPhone?

Not currently. Glyph Engine is built for iPad and Mac. The radial picker and side-by-side grid don't translate well to a phone screen.

Does it work offline?

Yes, after you choose to download the local matching model. Search models run on device for SF Symbol and emoji matching. Custom SVG generation is the only feature that needs network access after install — it sends your input to QuiverAI and spends one of your free generations or an SVG Pack credit.

A new SF Symbol shipped in the latest OS but isn't showing up.

When Apple ships new symbols in a major OS release, a Glyph Engine update follows that picks them up and rebuilds the index. If you're already on the latest app version, those symbols should appear after the app's next launch.

3. Resetting the app

If the app is misbehaving, delete and reinstall it. Because Glyph Engine is sandboxed, removing the app also clears the matching model, index, and caches. On the next launch, everything is rebuilt from scratch.

4. Feature requests

If there's something you wish the app did, send it in. Specific use cases help more than abstract requests.

5. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. Open Apple's Report a Problem page, find the Glyph Engine purchase, and request a refund.
